So I've decided to be a wannabe travel blogger for a week. Since our holiday this year was a city break rather than a lounge by the pool for two weeks and take boring photos holiday, I do actually have some semi interesting things to report on.
We arrived quite early on the Thursday morning after a super early start so first stop was to find our apartment. I'm always quite nervous of the accommodation until you get there in case its disappointingly different to the online photos. We booked our apartment through Booking.com but it was one of the BarcelonaForRent properties around the city. There is something reassuring when it's a proper organisation rather than just people renting out a flat - but maybe that's just my OCD talking.
Anyway, long story short, the apartment was amazing, and we were so pleased. A perfect location just between Las Ramblas and Passeig de Gracia and walkable from almost all the main sights in the city. Also the decor was so nice, it was a little haven to return to after busy days in the heat!
After a quick refuel and more importantly the first drink of the holiday we spent the first afternoon getting our bearings and exploring the city. It was the first time in Barcelona for both of us and I could just spend days on end wandering through the dreamy streets.
