Last week I attended a Topshop A/W '13 Preview Evening at The Restaurant Bar & Grill in Glasgow. It consisted of a two course meal (which was DELISH) followed by a presentation from some of the Topshop Personal Shoppers from all over the UK. They were discussing three main up and coming trends this season and all the clothes were amazzzzing. Definitely want to book myself in for a free personal shopping session soon! So obviously I went in head-to-toe Topshop (as I love to do) and these 'Mom' jeans from are the comfiest things ever...a bit different from standard skinny jeans too!
The first trend was all about the pastels! These gorge trousers can be combined with a matching tshirt if you fancy the co-ord look or a simple cami (like this, this or this) for a more casual look. This amazing fluffy coat would be perfect in the winter to throw on over just about anything...or to just snuggle up to on a cold night! This wee strappy dress comes in so many colours and is so cheap so is perfect if you're needing something for a night out! There are so many other perfect pastels pieces on the Topshop website to check out!
The next trend had a more British feel and was made up of darker colours and prints with a lot of denim and leopard print. There was a lot of red, white and blue/black but the addition of leopard print makes this trend a bit more funky! This denim tunic is perfect for during the day with a pair of boots but can also be dressed up for night time because of the chiffon sleeves! I also have to have this neoprene leopard jumper...I absolutely LOVE the neoprene fabric being used on so many pieces just now (this jacket is another one on my wishlist!) and this jumper is simply amazing. For a simpler way to wear this trend, these leggings can be thrown on with a pair of biker boots and a tshirt for everyday wear!
Finally, my fave trend of the night! This one was full of dark floral prints with the odd neon pop of colour and kimono thrown in. This midi skirt can be paired with a plain tee or a simple cami as the print is so busy, and it would be perfect with boots in the day or heels at night! If you're struggling to say goodbye to summer then this kimono is a good transitional piece to carry you into the colder months! Again, as with so many of these items, this floral playsuit is perfect for day or night. The print is so pretty and the material just flows and sits so nicely. Last and CERTAINLY not least is my new best friend - THIS COAT. I have no words..Need. It. Now. You can fully expect to see this on my blog soon!
Obviously, all these trends and pieces can be mixed and matched to create a look that suits you, it was just great having the chance to speak to the lovely Personal Shopper girls and get some ideas!
A great night was had by all!!
